Glock Slim 9mm - It's here, and GLOCK has released their 9mm single barrel: the G43. A few weeks ago, I flew to Atlanta to visit the GLOCK factory in Smyrna, GA, and was able to get the new pistol for some basic testing.
There are many single 9mm packages on the market; has increased over the past few years as the concealed carry market has grown. Some, like the Kahr PM9 sitting on my nightstand as I type this, have been around for years. However, in recent years we have seen the introduction of the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield (April 2012), the Springfield XDS-9 (January 2013), the Kimber Solo (January 2011), the SIG Sauer P938 (January 2012 ). ), FNS 9 Compact (December 2014), and the list goes on. GLOCK entered the competition field with a lot of competition, but luckily for them, being GLOCK, they put a lot of time and effort into this highly anticipated small weapon.

Let's see, from a basic size and weight standpoint, how the GLOCK 43 stacks up against some of the 9mm single-action rifles we've tested in the past:

The GLOCK 43 is, first and foremost, a GLOCK: known for its reliability. Although I only had a chance to put a hundred rounds through the small pistol, I was able to test a few things to see how some new shooters entering the concealed carry market would fare.
Although taller than the G42, the GLOCK .380 has the same recoil and is not as comfortable to shoot as some of its peers. On the other hand, the G43 asks you to hold firmly to return your sight to the target, but the interesting thing is that you don't have to do it. I carefully put the magazine into the gun while moving, keeping my right (dominant) hand as low as possible and holding it lightly. To my surprise, the gun worked throughout the magazine. The experience was bad, so I chose not to continue this line of tests, satisfied that the magazine and the pistol that holds that image are more than many guns can.
The GLOCK 43 looks like a very desirable gun for those looking for an easy-to-conceal handgun. It is smooth, small and flat. It works well in a pocket holster or on a belt, and may provide an alternative to those who know they need to use other different carry methods to conceal their larger 43 friends.
Another thing to point out from my time behind the gun is that the trigger is a GLOCK trigger. The finish is quite unusual, which is saying something when we're talking about single-stack 9mms. Most of them have complex triggers that make it harder for smaller shooters (and some experienced shooters) to operate. The GLOCK 43 does not have this problem.

There has been some speculation about the absence of the G43 and the presence of the G26, the GLOCK 9mm compact double stacker, and the G42. If we compare the information of the three sides side by side, you can get a good idea of the difference in size:
Finally, the size difference between the G42 and the G26 is very small. For those with a leaner frame, though, that may be enough to change. Mainly because the G42 is lighter than the G26.
It's also unfortunate that a longer magazine that adds another round or two to the capacity isn't available yet. The magazine is standard fare among 9mm single stacks, and while GLOCK is working on developing one, for now, those looking for an extra round or two are out of stock. good luck buying a G26.
During the filming of the factory, those who were there were worried that there were bigger hands. While I had no trouble maintaining a grip on the G43, some shooters found that their hands slipped due to the small size of the gun and the size of their hands. This type of problem should always be tested before you buy and compare how easy the gun is to conceal and how easy it is to shoot.

It doesn't matter what I say here; GLOCK has released a stock 9mm that sells like hotcakes. The main thing is that I'm happy. Even though they put their single stack 9mm too far behind the curve, they did it right. Sure, you can buy a GLOCK 26 or a GLOCK 42, but let's be honest: a single-stack 9mm is easy to conceal, has a barrel that most people like, and is a great gun to carry. every day. The GLOCK 43 is something different. GLOCK scales build and perform with everything a 9mm can do that is easy to use, easy to conceal, and extremely reliable.
My decision? I want one. I want to get one, I wear it every day. I want to put some XS Big Dot sights on it and put it in the N8 Tactical Holster and take it everywhere. I think others will like it too.
