Glock Slim - The GLOCK 43X and GLOCK 48 come with smaller cartridges and silver slides. We get down to the question of what other features both slim pistols have and what sets them apart. We tried hard on both. You can read the result here.
GLOCK has added the G43X and G48 models to its Slimline lineup, slim-grip pistols for single magazines. Both new products from Deutsch-Wagram have a silver slide. So GLOCK brings other colors to the game after the sand color G19X. About four years ago, GLOCK launched the G43 single chambered in 9mm Luger. Too late, because manufacturers like Kahr Arms, SIG Sauer, Smith & Wesson, Taurus, Ruger, and Walther have already introduced their subcompact pistols to the combat market. To get something from the "Hidden Carry Cake", they have to follow the pattern. Now the G43 is also included in the range.

Ergonomic Availability: The G43X has a long, compact grip with a 10-round magazine capacity, providing a larger grip than the 6-round G43 capacity, better handling and with more power for faster shots.

The "X" in the G43X model refers to the G19X - and rightly so. Similar to the double-frame version, there is a "crossover model" in which the press/slide box is combined with a large frame. While the G19X simply combines the G17 grip with the G19 upper, the new G43X (like the G48) requires a redesigned frame. Instead of a 6, the magazine holds 10 rounds. This means that shooters with large hands can buy more from the long hold, and they have an upgrade. in firepower with 10+1 cartridges.
At first glance, you might think that the traditional maker of polymer guns has replaced the stainless steel on the slide. Far from it, because the color is obtained with a PVD ("Physical Vapor Deposition") hard coating. In addition, it is possible to use the common elements of the tested object. GLOCK has done a great job of providing smooth grips on the front. The 84mm barrel length is the same as the G43.
The G48 is in the compact segment, not the subcompact. Its colored slide allows for a 104 mm frame, increasing the viewing radius by 20 mm compared to the G43X. So the G48 is about the same size as the GLOCK 19, but about 4mm wider. As with the GLOCK 43X, the main magazine button can be used by left-handed users. However, the left hand should always hold the slide closing lever during operation, and preferably, catch the slide in the last position and pull it back.
The G48 is about the same length and height as the GLOCK 19, but about 4mm wider.

As is common with slim models, adjustable wrist-size backstraps are not included at the factory. This may be useful for a smaller gun like the GLOCK 43(X) to be controversial. Technically, the G43X and G48 are similar to the Gen5 version in some respects. In other words, instead of the usual square-shaped spike, we have a flat-headed spike here. The shooting safety was also changed, and finally, the "GLOCK Marksman Barrel" (GMB) was installed.
Polymer shot, keyed press, cartridge mounted in ejector port, small holder for single cartridge magazines, partial loading safety, separate magazine.
Of course, the question arises whether the thickness difference between the G48 and the standard G19 is significant, which is a few millimeters. You also lose 5 rounds of magazine and fire can be decisive in many cases. Of course, 4 mm is not much. But if you carry the gun day and night in the "Inside the Waistband" (IWB) or the "Appendix in the Waistband" (AIWB), the small millimeters are smaller. This depends on the actual comfort of wearing and hitting the corner of the gun under the coat. This is a look that should not be underestimated, especially in the summer months with thin clothes. Also, the full G19 is about 1060g, while the G48 is about 830g which is 230g less. Ultimately, though, whether to use the lighter G48, the more powerful, two-stack G19 for concealed carry is a personal decision. But the G43X or G48 may appeal to hunters who don't need to rely on high power. However, the main market for the latest GLOCK models is the USA.
The rounded and chamfered nose crown on the front of the slide is a hallmark of the 5th generation "Glock Marksman Barrel" (GMB).
Taurus Slim 740 Vs Glock G27 Gen4 Size Comparison
As expected, we have selected the most popular five boxes from the category of protective boxes. Bullet weights of five working cartridges are 93-147 grains. For the test range, we chose a standard 15 m from the sandbag support. Given the slimmer frame, and above all about 5mm of short distance between the back of the grip and the base, the grip feels really different - not least because of the angle left of the firm and right of the firm. powers. First up is the G43X, which achieved its best results with two 5-shot groups using the 124-grain Speer Gold Dot +P live load. The second place with 34 mm has the GECO 124 grains FMJ, so it is very good for a training kit. The calculated average value of all loads tested is 44 mm, which is more than enough for the use of small "skinnies". We had the best results with the G48 using GECO 124 grains FMJ ammo, 40mm. Second place went to the Sellier & Bellot 124 grains FMJ with a compound diameter of 46mm, which are also easy to sell. Third place went to the Speer Gold Dot 124 Grains +P load with a 49mm shooting combination. The average for all loads here is 58mm, so it's worse than the G43X, despite the longer view. But here it is accurate enough for a defensive weapon. Finally, we shot some cartridges in strong cases, and it is not surprising that the G43X weighs a little more than the 60 gram G48. Tested with 150 rounds per gun, no flaws.
The new G43X and G48 models have a "1911 feel" in ergonomics and handling, with signature GLOCK design features, small handles and a 10-round magazine. The G43X is also great for shooters with large hands and costs €702. If you don't need a lot of storage and have small hands, the G48 could be interesting. At €725, it's cheaper than the G43X.
